International Football and World Cup South Africa

With less than one week left to the start of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, football teams around the globe stretched their muscles in the full preparation for the mega event. As the Greek team suffered a home loss to Senegal team while Switzerland fell at home to Uruguay and Slovakians were defeated by the Norwegians.

As the World Cup is the most widely-viewed sporting event around the international football, where an estimated millions of people will watch the final match. There is a hustle bustle in the international football arena. Teams are well prepared and at the best of their all time performances.

The world's first international football match was a competitive challenge between Scottish and English football teams, with the first international tournament.

Football was not player outside the UK at this stage. Later as football began to increase in popularity in other parts of the world at the turn of the century, it was held Summer Olympics of the first decade of 20th century as a demonstration sport with no medals however, the IOC has retroactively upgraded their status to official events and at the 1906 Intercalated Games.

The current format of the world cup involves 32 football teams competing for the title at South Africa.
